The Station Tapas and Wine: Reviews & Ratings
If you’re ever around Gibson’s or Sechelt would definitely make the effort to visit The Station. Their take on Spanish tapas is fresh and elevated but the vibe is casual and far from pretentious. The service is delightful and the team know their stuff, introducing each dish so you can appreciate the subtle and surprising tastes of each plate. It’s hard to suggest must-try dishes since they were all amazing. That said, if I had to put some out there I would recommend: - The Boquerone and/or Chicken Liver Mousse - The Tuna Crudo - Lion’s Mane Steak (will surprise even the most carnivorous eater) - Gnocchi (patata bravas inspired) - For protein mains you can’t go wrong with the half Cornish Hen or Coffee Rubbed Skirt Steak Shout out to Eldric for the drink recos at the bar, Dustin for the great table service and Chef Alex who visited our table multiple times to ask how we were enjoying our dishes. And of course shoutout to chef Murray for a fantastic inspired seasonal menu!
Came in with my wife on a friend’s recommendation and left speechless. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. just an awesome experience all around.
Came here for a small bite and a drink , and came back the next day ! Amazing food , excellent service and a beautiful space with a stunning view ! we tried almost everything . The watermelon salad was to die for , the fish dip, the gnocchi is a great play on patatas bravas, the chicken was fantastic. We had the best espresso martinis ! Can’t wait to come back to Gibsons so we can dine here again!
Went for Happy Hour. Sat on the deck with a great view of the Harbour. The Happy Hour wine was great! The charcuterie board had great flavour and a nice variety that mixed well with the wine. The service was excellent. Definitely going back for supper, the entree options look fun!
Top notch. Enjoyed 3 vegan share plates; fig, arugula and plum salad with delicate lemon vinaigrette (not pictured). Grilled cabbage with cashew cheese, sun-dried tomato & caramelized onions, crispy shallots. Grilled eggplant with sherry glaze and shiso. Cashew cheese cake tart with strawberry and rhubarb. Had a sherry limoncello spritz and a passion fruit banditry cider to wash things down. Everything was very well presented, flavours on point and service was excellent. Highly recommend and will be back.
Great tapas selection - every dish is meant for sharing. The steak was truly the best along with the hen out of what we ordered. The service however wasn’t as great as it could have been but overall decent. Best to make a reservation at peak time
My spouse and I were very happy with the dining experience and will definitely come back again. The bartender recommended a refreshing cocktail with the local gin, Bruinwood. The food was tasty and presentable. Each dish was definitely not box standard. Some dishes we had were the Cornish hen, fish and chips, the octopus and a peach and cherry tomato salad. The server recommended 4-5 dishes, which were plenty for the two of us. Definitely coming back again
